1968 is often referred to at "The Year That Changed the World." The political assasinations, the increasingly unpopular war in Vietnam, the national election that produced President Nixon, and the dawning of the understanding that "the medium is the message" all reflected rapid change in the country and the world. And yet--much of the news reflected the mundane or trivial as well as the life-changing events of the era.
Forty years later, much has changed...and much remains the same.
The year ends on a high note.
